Financial Mentoring

At ATLAS of Lyon County, we believe that true financial growth doesn’t come solely from knowing how to budget or save—it begins with the heart and understanding God's purpose for our resources. Our Financial Mentoring program is designed to walk alongside individuals or couples as they grow in both practical skills and spiritual understanding related to money management.

Please note: ATLAS does not offer direct financial assistance. Instead, we offer something more enduring—biblical guidance, practical tools, and personal mentorship to help individuals steward their resources wisely and grow in financial freedom.

What to Expect:

1. Faith-Based Guidance
Our mentors help you explore what the Bible teaches about money, stewardship, and contentment. Scripture reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). We are not owners, but stewards of all God has entrusted to us. Learning to manage finances God’s way can bring peace, clarity, and purpose.

2. Encouraging Self-Direction
Mentors don't take control of your finances—we guide you to take ownership of your financial journey. Just as Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance,” we help you build a foundation of responsibility, discipline, and hope.

3. Goal Setting (SMART Goals)
We assist you in creating financial goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Whether it’s paying off debt, building savings, or preparing for future expenses, your mentor will help you set goals that honor God and serve your family well. “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).

4. Regular Feedback and Accountability
Through weekly check-ins, you’ll receive encouragement, honest feedback, and celebration of your progress. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” These relationships help strengthen both your character and your confidence.

5. Stewardship-Focused and Values-Driven
Our program emphasizes the importance of managing money with integrity, generosity, and contentment. Jesus taught, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). We help you align your financial decisions with Christian values that bring long-term joy and purpose.

Format:
  • Weekly, one-on-one sessions
  • Can include spouses or partners
  • Confidential, grace-filled, and personalized
No matter your financial situation—whether you're just starting out, struggling, or ready to take the next step—this mentoring relationship is here to walk with you. Together, we’ll pursue not only financial wellness but a deeper trust in the Lord’s provision.
