BREAD OF LIFE
Bread of Life is a food ministry that serves Lyon County residents that meet maximum income requirements for their households. Bread of Life takes place on the fourth Wednesday of each month, with an exception for the months of April, November, and December which are on the third Wednesday of the month.
We have four locations in Lyon county:
- Forester Community Building- Rock Rapids 5:30-6:30 pm
- West Lyon Community School-Inwood 5:30-6:30 pm
- Immanuel Luther Church – George 5:00-6:00 pm
- Little Rock Town & Country Club- Little Rock 5:30- 6:30 pm
Much like a grocery store, clients can pick out what they or their families like. All kinds of canned vegetables & fruits are available. Pre-packaged breads, such as French/Italian loaves, rolls & sliced breads. Frozen meats such as hamburger, pork chops & chicken. Everything that we can offer is generously donated by individuals, businesses & farmers from the tri-state area. Sometimes the availability of products varies.
How Can You Help the Bread of Life?
Thank you to all who donate items and/or time to help families in Lyon County with this wonderful project! If you or your church group is wishing to participate in this endeavor, please contact the ATLAS office by calling 712-472-9016. Whether it is a desire to dedicate some of your time with us on the day of the monthly food distribution by helping unload the truck or guide our participants through their selections, or your organization is willing to perform a food drive on our behalf, we would love to work with you. There is no donation that is too small and every volunteer is sincerely appreciated as it takes a full team of individuals to perform the tasks each month.
